Forgiveness.....

We had a fascinating evening yesterday exploring the meaning of forgiveness.

We tackled lots of deep issues like......

Can a man forgive someone for a wrong done to someone else?
Is it right to forgive someone even when they've not sought forgiveness?
How does one find it in yourself to forgive?
We touched on the deep need we all have for forgiveness...but at the same time a deep need for justice when wronged.
We explored how God had brought together both forgiveness and justice when Jesus died on the cross for mankind's evil.
And.....we touched on the role that forgiveness might play in international relations....

All in one evening!

Our thanks to Dentist Colin Saxton for taking us through '502': no more than five meals/snacks a day, nothing between meals and brush twice a day for two minutes. It was good to get the low down the life of a dentist and how we can look after our teeth better. I brushed more thoroughly after this!

Well, there as a lot of waiting around in the dark whilst we listened to inappropriately-loud music but the fireworks in the end were spectacular. A good evening. It was good to see so many there.

Guy Fawkes : we had a bit of a whistle stop tour of Guy Fawkes.....this was rather rushed because we were talking so much about the education system in a England that Mike didn't leave enough time ! He also couldn't remember that Queen Elizabeth 1st wasn't married!

We had a good time last Thursday looking at some English mannerisms and etiquette. We learnt whether it is polite to touch a friend's head, do you kiss a female house visitor (and if so how many times) and how you address your spouse.
